When complete strangers are wandering through our offices there must be something special going on. Read on to learn why programmers now need to muster all their courage and how this will affect our applications!

Lately, almost whimsical things have been happening at the desk next to mine. Complete strangers are coming into our office, get placed in front of a PC and are then drilled with questions while using an Ashampoo application. Sometimes, things are more relaxed and you can almost detect a sense of timidity in their clicking but other times it's a clicking frenzy like rapid gun fire. Once that person left, there's always the same questions: "Who was that?" or "What was he doing here?" that are met with responses like "My neighbor.", "A friend." or "A long-time customer from around here.". *But what are all these people doing here?*

For years, one topic has been in the focus of the world: How do we reduce our enormous energy footprint in favor of our environment? The dynamics of this global issue has brought about an energy revolution with many recent useful discoveries - solar fields, electric cars and wind turbines, the latter of which can be easily spotted rising into mostly rainy skies here in the northern part of Germany by the dozen. But that's another story.

Windows 10: A familiar new friend

Windows 10 has arrived! I have bravely made the switch and would like to report my impressions, insights and confessions.

Does this sound familiar? With a good friend, you can stay separated for several weeks or months without feeling disassociation. As soon as you meet again, you feel like you have just had a barbecue the other day. It's nearly the same with Windows 10. Never before has Microsoft provided so many users with a reliable beta version of their operating system. When I installed it on my machine on June 29, it immediately felt familiar.

Traveling Jedi Part 1: Car sharing with DriveNow

As a frequent business traveler, I constantly need to commute between airports, cities and my clients. Until now, I went by bus, taxi or train, mainly based on current rates and fares. I've seen a lot on these trips but that is another story.
For some time now, German cities have added another mobility option: car sharing. We love to share. Tools, office spaces, pets, marriage partners (not official but feasible). Now, we're sharing cars. I like the idea of sharing. It's environmentally friendly, inexpensive and in a way counteracts social isolation. Sharing is social and deserves support.
